Thanks for your message, Raiyan. Another lady interpretted my posting to mean I needed consolation. But that was not my intent. Instead, I was posing somewhat academic questions about prayer, consolation, what people do when they don't feel any consolation, and related issues.

In the message you wrote below, I can see immediately why just knowing you were there looking over him would be of tremendous comfort to your son. Maybe part of the life energy within you flowed to your son -- we don't know all that we can accomplish yet. Perhaps your prayers changed the course of events and your son's recovery.
